If the inside of your nose and your skin feel very dry after a day at work, the humidity in the building is likely very low. There are a few ways to increase humidity.

  • Use portable humidifiers if possible

  • If a humidifier isn’t an option, try these simple hacks:

    • Place ceramic or metal bowls of water over the heating vents or radiators

    • Place ceramic or metal bowls on sunny windowsills. Bend a metal coat hanger so it sits over the bowl and cover it with a damp towel. Stick the ends of the towel into the water

  • Higher humidity increases the size of virus particles causing the particles to fall onto surfaces that can be easily cleaned. Higher humidity (40%–60%) is also better for your body. It keeps your respiratory and immune systems working well, which helps you stay healthy
